Product Overview

The HM-LS3 from HM Instruments combines a halogen heater with a weighing system to measure sample mass loss during drying. It displays moisture and dry-residue results for compatible solid, granular, powdered and other laboratory samples.

Applications

Use for moisture assessment in compatible grain, feed, food, agricultural and laboratory materials. Select a drying method for the material and spread the sample evenly on the pan. Other volatile components can contribute to mass loss, so loss on drying may differ from a water-specific result.

Operation and Support

Calibrate the balance, place a representative sample evenly on the pan, close the heater cover and start the selected drying procedure. Match sample mass, drying temperature and endpoint conditions to the material and the weighing capacity. Allow the heated pan to cool before handling.
